INVITING GENDER DIVERSITY

Lena Breuer

Despite the economic, organisational, and societal benefits associated with more gender diverse environments, inclusion remains a challenge for institutions, corporations and theatres internationally. Though the #MeToo movement showed it, women and queer individuals are underrepresented in art and business. Change is made slowly, hindered by awkwardness and discomfort, standardized ideas, out-of-date beliefs and practices, privilege, bias, and so on and so on… How is it possible to create a more gender diverse environment and to make business and art feel more safe? Can art and theatre be a catalyst for this?

Led by Lena Breuer, founder of Project Eve which unites women in art, to support the idea of more gender equality on and off stage, the panel will push the conversation forward and empower your allyship with tools to create spaces that invite gender equality, maneuver through the difficult conversations, and challenge standardised notions.

Things that get in the way of gender diversity: awkwardness and discomfort, standardized ideas, out-of-date beliefs and practices, privilege, bias, and so on and so on…

This is a conversation intended to empower your allyship with tools to create spaces that invite gender equality, maneuver through the difficult conversations, and challenge standardised notions.
